An autoimmune disease shows its ugly existence when your immune system mistakenly attacks your body. Usually it protects you from viruses, and other germs. It’s your guardian from all foreign invaders and sends out a bunch of military cells to fend off and attack them.
Among autoimmune diseases are Dysautonomia, an Umbrella Term for Autonomic Nervous System Disorder! Juvenile (type 1) diabetes that can inflict even adults! But, today, Dysautonomia and Type 1 Diabetes are the two that have most affected my family! Over time, we will add more information on others that are listed here:
Inflammatory bowels (IBD) including Crohn’s Disease, Psoriasas, and ulcerative colitis (UC), Hashimoto thyroiditis, Systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, Polymyositis, Scleroderma, Addison disease, Vitiligo, Pernicious anemia, Glomerulonephritis, and Pulmonary fibrosis are more of the autoimmune diseases that affect over 10 million people in the United States.
It is unknown what causes autoimmune disorders. Certain microorganisms like viruses and bacteria happen to patients who have genes that make their immune system more prone to these disorders. Another theory is that drugs often confuse the immune and can trigger autoimmune disorders.
Autoimmune Disease Includes Viruses such as Corona Virus
Corona Virus gets the name from its similarity to a crown. Corona Beer got its name for being the “king of beers”!! Two entirely different things with the same first names!! For a short period of time, our Pandemic was jokingly being called the Corona Beer Virus and YES, it did dip Corona Beer sales for a short time.
Viruses are also an autoimmune disorder and some people are more prone to viruses than others. Patients with compromised immune systems are especially vulnerable and are already dealing with other medical problems. Many precautions are definitely necessary and should be adhered to especially with the CoVid virus. However, panic serves no purpose except to trample on common sense!
