Miracles Happen Today all around us! As stubborn humans, we often refuse to acknowledge them. Why? Because we project certain philosophies, beliefs, and opinions that identify us by those we know and love! Admitting differences is often difficult, due to pride, arrogance, or just plain complacency. Any excuse would fit in one of those categories! It is much easier to save face than to eat crow? Furthermore, changing direction attracts unwanted attention and a need to explain ourselves. This road of Life is much easier if we avoid driving over the bumps!

Amid Coronvirus trials think of Heavenly Things!
Miracles Happen Today and Everyday
You ask, what are the Miracles happening today? Look around! The sun shines, the rains come, the winds blow, blue sky, clouds, moon, and stars still populate our sky! All this is in a precise order with perfect timing. It doesn’t take a scientist to tell us that a more powerful force than humans is orchestrating this harmony!
Did you ever see the sunrise or watch a spectacular sunset What makes trees and flowers bloom in Spring? Why does grass grow? How do birds know when to mate and when to nest? Does the butterfly fairy tell the butterflies to burst from their cocoons? Where did water originate? Who sent so many different species of bugs and animals. Is the dog really man’s best friend?
A scant few Well documented Miracles
The Miracle of the Sun, also known as the Miracle of Fátima, occurred on October 13, 1917. Thousands gathered in Fátima, Portugal, in response to a prophecy made by three shepherd children, Lúcia Santos and Francisco and Jacinta Marto. They all witnessed the same! Journalists,
he Miracle of the sun is a common subject that atheists love to mock. It is one of their favorites. Richard Dawkins, the atheists’ high priest claims the miracle of the sun is a mass hallucination. However, Richard Dawkins cannot explain how 70,000 people (including many atheists) could see the same thing. Dawkins dismisses the pictures and news articles of witnesses and journalists who were there. He cannot explain the same sight seen by a 9-year-old boy, Inacio Lourenco from a village 12 miles from Fatima. Inacio, his class, and his teacher ran outside to see the commotion. What they saw was the same as the 70,000 in Fatima.
Miracles Happen If We Chose To See Them
Poet Alfonso Lopes Vieira lived over 30 miles away from Fatima and witnessed the sun dancing in the sky! His writing is quoted, “On that day, 13th October, 1917, not knowing any of the predictions of the children, I was enchanted by a remarkable spectacle in the sky of a kind I had never seen before.”
Sailors on a British ship about 50 miles off the coast of Portugal saw the miracle. Foley gave a talk about Fatima at a college in England. One of the teachers told him that her grandfather saw the spectacle from his ship and wrote to his wife – “without obviously understanding what it meant or its significance.”
Suffering Reminds Us Of Others
When there is great suffering like today, it helps us think about heavenly things. Times like this present us with constant reminders that our hearts and minds should be concerned about our union with God in this world and the next.
Today we see miracles happening every day during the CoronaVirus! Families are separated yet are closer than ever before. Neighbors are caring for neighbors! Families are walking together! Fathers are bicycling with their youngsters. People appreciate our medical staff on the front lines of this fight! Restaurant owners are staffing food kitchens to do their part. The list could go on!! We no longer take these things for granted.
These are only a smidgen of the bonds forming and strengthening in a time of crisis! All this proves how much good comes from tragedy! Yes, lives were lost but how many lives are enriched and saved?
What is the message we should get from this major shutdown throughout the world? Are we really getting it? Will we jump right back into old routines of work, eat, sleep and enjoy ourselves as the years roll by faster and faster? Who is left behind in our lives? Do we see and treasure our loved ones today? Are we ready to embark on a supernatural trip into death, only to learn that life is just traveling to our destination?
